Antivirus Software:

Avast (Paid versions ONLY) - Avast is one of the anti-virus software packages widely used. It provides daily updates to virus definitions. This is the anti-virus software recommended by

Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Security Essentials provides real-time virus and spyware protection. It runs on Windows Vista and Windows 7 systems. (Windows XP is no longer supported)

AVG (Paid versions ONLY) - AVG provides anti-virus solutions for PC, Mac and most mobile devices running Apple iOS or Android operating systems.

Online Scanners:

ESET Online Scanner - An online scanner for scanning viruses if customer doesn't want a program downloaded or the virus is blocking the common .exe files from running.

Symantec's Online Security Scanners - Symantec provides both an online virus scanner and a security scanner. This virus scanner will not clean the viruses, but it will tell you where to go to get help. Symantec provides many free removal tools (see next link) to remove almost all of the common viruses. The security scanner will check many common ports and attack areas and report which ways your PC may be vulnerable.

Virus Removal Tools:

Symantec's Virus Removal Tools - Symantec provides removal tools for almost all the latest and common viruses. If you think you may be infected, and you know what the virus name is, this is where you go. Many of these require your PC to be in "Safe Mode".

Microsoft Malicious Sowftware Removal Tool - An anti-malware utility that checks computers running Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP*, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2003 for infections by specific, prevalent malicious software - including Blaster, Sasser, and Mydoom - and helps remove malware and any other infections found.

Malwarebytes - Detects and removes malware, such as worms, Trojans, rootkits, rogues, spyware, and more.

HiJackThis - Utility that detects malware and other threats.
